ABSTRACT
This study investigated the production of biodiesel from almond seed oil using bio-based heterogeneous catalyst derived from doped snail shell and almond shell. The importance of fuels cannot be undermined, the ever increase in the demand of fuels has led to the over dependence on fossil fuels(being the primary source of fuels) which has consequentially led to the depletion of the fossil fuels as its non-renewable, Hence the need for alternate source of fuel. The Almond seed oil was characterized to determine the properties of the oil. The catalyst were characterized using scanning electron microscope (SEM) toghether with X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, and Brunauer, Emmett and Teller (BET) analysis to assess its suitability.
