ABSTRACT
Bioethanol has been produced from potato peels by submerged fermentation process and by the optimisation of the production parameters of pH, enzyme loading (g/L), hydrolysis time (hr) and incubation period (days) using the Taguchi design coupled with Response Surface Methodology. The highest bioethanol yield obtained was 2.55% at the conditions of pH of 6, enzyme loading of 0.75%, hydrolysis time of 48hr and incubation period of 5 days. The main effect model was selected for the ANOVA with the R-square, predicted R-square and adjusted R-square value of 0.9474, 0.9211 and 0.8580 respectively. The ANOVA results showed that all the experimental parameters were highly significant in bioethanol yield
