ABSTRACT

This research study aimed to investigate how online shopping affects customer satisfaction in Benin City, Edo State. The method used in this study was simple random sampling, which ensures that all individuals in the population have an equal chance of being selected. In this case, the researcher randomly distributed questionnaires to 385 online shoppers in Benin City. The study followed a descriptive survey research design to gather information. The results of the study showed that the quality of product information significantly impacts customer satisfaction. Additionally, the time it takes for customers to complete transactions is also a determining factor in customer satisfaction. However, the regression analysis revealed that there is no significant relationship between product quality and customer satisfaction, as well as between website design and customer satisfaction. On the other hand, the study found that customers' perception of security significantly affects their satisfaction in Benin City. Based on these findings, it is recommended that businesses and online retailers focus on improving the accuracy, completeness, and clarity of product information on their websites. They should also work on optimizing the time it takes for customers to complete their transactions and receive their orders. Investing in robust cybersecurity measures and effectively communicating security protocols to customers is also important. Lastly, businesses should regularly assess the quality of their products and services and maintain user-friendly and visually appealing websites.
