ABSTRACT
Due to the insufficient number of hostels in the University of Benin, and its inability to accommodate every student, this has resulted to many students getting an apartment off campus, which also has its pros and cons. One of which this project is about is the inability to reach out to artisans within the environment. The University of Benin students staying off campus still operate in an outmoded and much flawed system of getting an artisan, that requires them to go farther away from their apartments either after or before classes, which can be time consuming. Cases where the student eventually gets one, the student may be disappointed, as the system is unreliable. The artisan may not show up in the required time, because someone else offers a higher price, even though the said person requested their services late. In this research, we try to resolve the problem by creating an online freelance system for artisans to provide ease for students. Also, we create it in a way that the prices are fixed, although they vary depending on the type of jobs the student needs. Some programming languages and tools are being used in this project in order to achieve its aim. A separate layer was created for the artisans and students, but these two platforms communicate via API calls.
