The construction industry has been a part of high-risk-based jobs due to the availability and execution of critical activities. It contributes a large percentage of injuries and accidents which sometime results into deaths at the workplace. Whenever heavy machineries are involved at construction sites, associated hazards and risks increase in multiple times. Even though various risk minimization strategies are implemented in controlling the consequences, still accidents are happening due to the involvement of heavy equipment at worksite. This paper “Occupational Safety Hazard associated with Heavy Construction plants use in Edo State” focuses on the various occupational hazards and risk associated with heavy machines, It’s effect on Workers and Best possible means to mitigate them (provides preventive measures in order to attain maximum safety) while dealing with heavy machinery on construction sites.
