ABSTRACT
The study shows the impact of some crops and climatic variable on the growth of gaint africa land snail (archachatina marginata). It was carried out at the Snailery unit of the University of Benin Teaching and Research Farm, Ugbowo, Edo State, Nigeria. The farm lies between latitude6’.20'1.32"N of the equator and longitude5’.36'0.54"E of Greenwich meridian, with mean annual temperature of 27.6ºC. The area has an average annual rainfall and relative humidity of 2162mm and 72.5% respectively(Google Earth,2021). About 5 snails in 5 different plot were used for the purpose of this experiment bringing it to a total of 25 snails. Weekly data on the snails weight, plant height, length and width were taken. Temperature and humidity values for the period of this experiment was gotten from soil sensor. Data was analysed using analysis of variance (ANOVA). The study reveals that the weight of the snails increases as the plant growth also increases as the climatic variables remains suitable for the snails.
