ABSTRACT
This study was carried out with the aim to examine Non-Governmental organisations and National development in Nigeria. In order to accomplish this task, various literature and theoretical issues were discussed. The researcher administered one hundred and fifty (150) questionnaire to respondents. Out of which one hundred and forty (140) were retrieved for the purpose of presenting and analysing responses on issues raised in the questionnaire. The data used for the purpose of this research was gathered through primary and secondary sources. The information generated from the questionnaires was analysed, summarised and presented in table using simple percentage. The hypothesis was tested by also using descriptive statistical tool (i.e simple percentage). The findings from analysis revealed among other things that Non-Governmental Organisation have greatly facilitated economic development. To this end, we therefore recommend that government should encourage at all level massive increase as well as economically empowering NGOs in the study area, creating a congenial platform where government and Non-Government Organisation could contribute their quotas towards development.
