SUMMARY

This Study work examined the tremendous efforts put in place by the non-governmental organization Patriotic. Citizen Initiative [PCI] in tackling human trafficking and Irregular migration in Nigeria, specifically Edo State, and how these efforts have played a critical role in contributing to the security of Nigerian citizens. The aim of this study was to examine the roles of Non-governmental organizations in tacking human trafficking by using human Patriotic Citizen Initiative as a case study, furthermore highlighting the Contributory role of PCI in tackling human trafficking in Nigeria. This study work is divided into three [3] parts, First part focusing on the conceptual overview of human trafficking itself in Nigeria. The second part with focuses on the historical origin of PCI, while the third part focuses on PCI's contributory role, with the Inclusion of the challenges it faces, with regards to trafficking. This study revealed that Patriotic Citizen Initiative (PCI), a well-known NGO in the City of Benin, Edo State, and the City of Lagos, which is concerned with the fight against human trafficking in Nigeria is contributing its services to the everyday Nigeria citizen, as well as the Nigerian government.
