ABSTRACT
Nollywood, the Nigerian film industry, has gained significant recognition and popularity over the years. It has not only entertained audiences but also served as a platform for addressing social issues and cultural norms. One such topic that has been explored in Nollywood films is parenting. This study aimed to consider the portrayal of parenting in two Nollywood films, "Nimbe" and "Moms at War" and analyzed the themes, messages, and societal implications depicted in these movies. The study used the content analysis modality to accomplish its goals. In this instance, the films that were the subject of the research were examined with an emphasis on particular themes and frames that represented genuine attempts to promote virtuous ideals in society. The findings showed that parents differ in their patterns of parenting and that these patterns have a significant impact on their children’s development and well-being. The researcher therefore recommended that, film producer should be adequately educated on the dangers of too much emphasis on the negative themes and storyline in films so that there will adequate balance in such negative themes and storylines by reflecting equally the positive attributes of the society in films, Nollywood movies should explore more areas of positive parenting in other to sensitize our society and other.
