ABSTRACT
This project examined Nollywood’s fight against the glaring issues of gender-based violence in Nigeria. It is an evaluation of selected movies “Dry”, “Knocking on Heaven’s door” and “Mr. and Mrs. The study looked at how they succeeded in portraying females as a complex and active part of society and how these selected movies can be used to tackle the problems of gender-based violence in society. The research concludes that movies help to reflect the emotions of their viewers through these movies thereby enlightening them on the effect of gender-based violence.
