ABSTRACT
This project explores the challenges and potential benefits of monetizing Nigeria's abundant natural gas resources. It highlights issues such as gas flaring, infrastructure gaps, and regulatory complexities while emphasizing the prospects of economic growth, energy security, and environmental sustainability. However, this research work also illuminates the potential inherent in Nigeria's gas resources. Through effective gas monetization, Nigeria can catalyze economic growth, attain energy security, bolster environmental sustainability, enhance global competitiveness, and promote social inclusion. The prospects include job creation, cleaner energy generation, reduced environmental impacts, and increased participation in the global energy market. This paper examines global strategies for commercializing natural gas resources, evaluates Nigeria's accomplishments in leveraging its natural gas reserves, and explores potential future developments. The technologies and initiatives considered in this assessment encompass liquefied natural gas (LNG), gas-to-liquids (GTL), compressed natural gas (CNG), gas-to-power (utilizing gas for electricity generation), and gas-to-solid (involving gas hydrates).
