ABSTRACT

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) introduced a cashless policy in 2012 with the aim of reducing the use of cash in the economy and promoting the use of electronic payments. In 2023, the CBN also announced a plan to redesign the Naira currency. These two policies have been met with mixed reactions, with some people arguing that they are necessary steps towards a more modern and efficient economy, while others believe that they are too ambitious and will not be successful. This paper aims to assess the Cashless and Naira Redesign Policy of the Central Bank of Nigeria 2023 i.e. To examine, evaluate, or analyze the effectiveness and Impact of these policies. Ultimately, the success of the cashless policy and Naira redesign will depend on a number of factors. However, if implemented correctly, these policies have the potential to make Nigeria a more modern and efficient economy.
