ABSTRACT

This study examined the impact of supply chain management practices on the operational performance of logistics companies operating in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. The specific objectives included examining the relationship between strategic partnerships with suppliers and the performance of these logistics firms, evaluating the influence of inventory control methods on their performance, and assessing the role of supply chain analytics in enhancing their performance in Benin City. The study focused on collecting data from all employees of the God is Good Logistics firm (GIG) within Edo State using a questionnaire. A total of 32 questionnaires were distributed and subsequently analyzed using statistical tools such as SPSS tables, the simple percentage method, and regression analysis. The results of the analysis, particularly the ANOVA results from the regression, were used to establish relationships between the variables. The study's findings revealed a significant correlation between strategic supplier partnerships and inventory control methods with the performance of logistics firms in Nigeria. However, the research did not find a significant relationship between the utilization of supply chain analytics and the performance of Nigerian logistics companies. As a recommendation, the study emphasizes the importance of developing and maintaining high-quality supply chain analytics as they are crucial for enabling data-driven decision-making, optimizing supply chain operations, reducing costs, enhancing customer satisfaction, and ultimately improving overall efficiency for logistics businesses.
