ABSTRACT
In examining the socio-economic relations between Nigeria and the United States of America during President Goodluck Jonathan's administration from 2010 to 2015, it becomes evident that the bilateral relationship between the two nations underwent significant shifts and developments. This period was marked by both challenges and opportunities, as Nigeria grappled with internal socio-economic issues while seeking to strengthen its ties with the United States. Throughout President Jonathan's tenure, Nigeria experienced a mix of socioeconomic challenges, including corruption, political instability, and security threats such as the Boko Haram insurgency. These challenges posed obstacles to Nigeria's development and hindered its ability to fully leverage its potential as a regional economic powerhouse. However, despite these challenges, the Jonathan administration made efforts to implement reforms aimed at promoting economic growth, improving governance, and addressing social inequalities.
