ABSTRACT

There is no way to think about life in any other way. It is illogical for Nietzsche to assert that the death of God must inevitably lead to nihilism because God cannot be thought of as not existing or as passing away. But is meaning just associated with God? If so, what about individuals who don't believe in God yet nevertheless have fulfilling lives? As a result, the nothingness school of thought is a failure. Life is so meaningful that it cannot be considered to be empty. Finally, with regard to the situation in Nigeria, I contend that a nation that is so impoverished cannot support peaceful coexistence. Where religious and racial divisions are prevalent and present a persistent threat to lives and property, people cannot coexist in harmony. Once more, in a democracy where critics are either persecuted or silenced permanently, people cannot coexist in peace. I urge Nigeria to remember that "we are held together by a single garment of oneness, tied together by a single network of mutuality, what affects one directly affects the other... injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere,"3 in the words of Martin Luther King Jr
