ABSTRACT
This study investigated the negligence of female undergraduate on reproductive health in the University of Benin, Benin City, Edo state. Four research questions were raised to guide the study. The design adopted for this study is the survey research design. The sample consisted of 218 students basically from social works. Questionnaires were used for the collection of data from 218 (two hundred and eighteen) respondents which were basically students. The research instrument was validated by the researcher’s supervisor. The test re-test method was adopted in testing the reliability of the instrument after which the research instruments were administered by the researcher himself. The data obtained were analyzed using mean and standard deviation. Findings revealed that there is a relationship between awareness of reproductive health and female undergraduates in University of Benin, and there is also a relationship between reproductive health practices and female undergraduates in University of Benin. Based on the findings, it was recommended that educators of reproductive health practice should intensify their efforts on sources of awareness such as counseling services extent on creating awareness on reproductive health issue of the students. And it was also recommended that the director of the students’ affairs unit of the university college hospital should see that the peer promoters’ program is strengthened and extended, since it is a very effective channel for reaching female undergraduates.
