ABSTRACT

This work is concerned with the morpho-semantic analyses of Igbo comitative constructions. (Agbo 2019) is the only Igbo scholar who had done a comprehensive work on Igbo comitativity. He took into consideration, five dialects of Igbo and identified some comitative markers that exist in these dialects and in the standard Igbo language. However he did not study the Nkanu dialect as this present study did. This study identified more comitative markers in the standard Igbo language and in Nkanu dialect. The aim of this study is to determine if there are more categories beyond what (Agbo 2019) identified, to see if these categories can be expanded and to see if there are more insights in the interactions compared to what  (Agbo 2019) identified.The method of data collection is the qualitative method. This study will help scholars of Igbo language as it gives more insight to the interaction of comitative constructions thatn what (Agbo 2019) did and found out more comitative markers of Igbo language.
