ABSTRACT

Numerous factors, such as driver mistake, ambient climate, vehicle capabilities, and road conditions, result in numerous traffic accidents. However, the study's main focus is on how frequently accidents on the road result from their consistent geometric design. In order to assess the segment's consistency in vehicle volumes, flow data on cars was acquired. The consistency features of the road geometric design and crash data have established relationships. Over the duration of the study's five-year study period, the accident data collected for this study comprises collisions that occurred on a two-lane, two-way road segment, omitting collisions involving people and animals. Paper versions of accident reports were also made available from 2017 to 2021 by Federal Road Safety Corps. Only geometric traits related to accidents were gathered for this investigation's purpose. Accidents from 2017 to 2021 inclusively were looked at. There were 339 accidents recorded in the database. These accidents didn't cover every incident that occurred on the Sections. All of the sections showed poor design performance, according to the results of studies of design compliance. The results showed that some of the road accidents where due to the geometric design of the highway alignment the use of multiple linear regression was use to come to the conclusion. A total of 12 observation was taken for the regression and the P value was gotten as 0.049 which is less than 0.05 and it shows that study was significant.
