Abstract

In order to close the gap for millions of Nigerians, particularly those living in rural communities without access to environmentally friendly energy, the research aims to explore the potential of renewable energy sources in Nigeria and to support, promise, and encourage the growth of renewable energy resources in the country. Additionally, a grid-tied photovoltaic system comprising an inverter, battery storage system, and power tracker will be designed and simulated in order to assess the system's performance based on changing load and an energy management system will be used to control the source of power.

These objectives were met and the system designed, modelled and simulated with the different power output graphs.

Although the system was modelled correctly but the problem of experience transient voltages due to varying load could prove a stumbling block. The continuity of the Grid Power was and that of the PV array was very good and this was shown from the simulation process. The impact of the simulation carried out are discussed below:
