MINING OPINION FOR IMPROVED COVID-19 MANAGEMENT USING SENTIMENT ANALYSIS

ABSTRACT

Corona virus (Covid-19) disease is defined as an illness caused by a Severe Acute respiratory syndrome which was first identified amid an outbreak of respiratory cases in wuhan city china. Since December 2019, SARS-Cov-2 has spread to more than 200 countries and become a global pandemic. COVID-19 spread and social economic distortions have been manageably curtailed using preventive, curative and palliative means Due to the imperative management of the disease, there is need for feedback Analysis and monitoring of the Covid-9 Pandemic. Opinion mining and Sentiment Analysis are natural language tool use in accessing and reviewing the content of words spoken by people in Social Media. GATE – a general Architecture for Text Engineering is used for Extraction and Annotation of text on which and shows the under-exploration in messages containing people reviews. A case study of messages from a telegram channel was utilized in this work. The result showed the need for further studies in the recognition of intent in natural language messages.
