ABSTRACT

This study titled "Migration and Disillusionment in Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s Americanah explores the themes of disillusionment, racial discrimination, and selfidentity in Adichie's Americanah to shed light on the complex effects of migration. Focusing on the experiences of the characters and the broader context of a migrant world, the research adopts a qualitative approach, conducting an in-depth analysis of the novel. The study pays meticulous attention to character representation and thematic elements within the narrative, examining the portrayal of alienation, nostalgia, racial discrimination, the loss and recovery of self-identity, depression leading to suicidal tendencies, and self-sabotage common experiences within the realm of migrant literature. Additionally, it incorporates insights from secondary texts such as critical reviews, essays, journals, and relevant online resources, including documentaries, articles, and project reviews related to the author. Also, this study adopts post-colonialism as a theoretical framework.
