ABSTRACT
Cosmetic creams play a crucial role in personal care and aesthetics. The use of such products has become an integral part of daily routines, with consumers relying on their efficacy and safety. However, inadequate preservation, improper manufacturing practices, and handling can lead to microbial contamination, posing potential risks to users. This study aims to conduct a comprehensive microbial evaluation of selected creams available in Benin City. The quality and safety of cosmetic products are of paramount importance, particularly those intended for skin application. Microbial contamination can lead to adverse effects on consumer health. In this research, a variety of creams commonly used in the region will be collected and analyzed for microbial content, including bacteria, yeast, and molds. Standard microbiological techniques will be employed to assess the microbial load and identify potential pathogens. The results of this study will contribute to a better understanding of the microbial quality of cosmetic creams in the local market and aid in ensuring consumer safety.
