Microbial contaminants are known to initiate spoilage of pharmaceutical products through chemical, physical or microbiological changes in the nature of the products, thereby rendering them unfit for us. Three different tablets which comprise of Vitamin C, Folic acid, B-complex was taken from different pharmacy stores in Ekosodin environs. Each sample was aseptically collected on a sterile bottle which was immediately taken to the laboratory for microbial analysis. The end result of the study display that each one of the drug tablet analyzed had bacterial and fungal growth. Five bacteria specie (Bacillus subtilis, Bacillus spp1, Bacillus spp2, Bacillus spp3, Enterobacter aerogenes) was isolated while seven fungi specie (Aspergillus niger, Penicillium, mucor spp, Fusarium spp, Aspergillus fumigates, Trichoderma spp, Saccharomyces spp) was isolated. In conclusion, good manufacturing and packaging practice, proper treatment of water, personal hygiene improvement of the production personel and pretreatment of natural raw material should be enforced and maintained. Also proper handling and storage of these product be carried to eliminate or reduce microbial factors to ensure reduction in the level of the microbial contamination.
