ABSTRACT
This project was based on the controversial topic of drug usage at Nigerian universities and used students from the University of Benin as a case study. This research looked into the serious problem of drug usage among first-year students at the University of Benin in Benin City. A total of 126 participants filled out structured questionnaires, and their responses were examined via basic percentages and random sampling. Drug misuse among college students is a huge problem, with serious consequences for students' health and academic performance as well as for society as a whole. The study called for a number of remedies to combat the cankerworm of drug abuse that has infested the lives of so many students today, including the establishment of clubs and associations on college campuses to educate students on the risks of substance abuse, the passage of stricter laws, and the requirement that media outlets report on these issues. And we can only pray that drug use goes down to zero in the not-too-distant future.
