Vulcanized rubber of different length and breadth example 5cm length and 3cm breadth are tested for their mechanical and viscoelastic properties. The are subjected to different conditions and the experiments are repeated for their tensile strength and creep behavior. The mechanical behavior of the vulcanized rubber at ordinary conditions have length highest extension length of 6.3cm at 1.40kg, with initial length of 4cm. it has a creep of 9.8cm in 40minutes with extensional weight of 500g and when heated in water, with the initial length of 4cm increased to 7.2 at extensional weight of 1.4kg.
Unvulcanized rubber are also tested for their mechanical (tensile strength) and viscoelastic properties ( creep ). They are also subjected to different conditions like an increase in temperature after which they are tested of its properties. Mechanical property at normal conditions, have highest extension length of 31.00cm at 1kg and creep of 20cm in 30minutes at extensional weigth of 0.5kg.
A graph of stress against strain is plotted for its tensile strength and a graph of strain against time is plotted for its creep.
