ABSTRACT

This study investigates the sound pressure level in decibel (dB) of a gas plant using the Mini Bluetooth sound meter. Measurement was carried out for three sections of Morning, Afternoon and Evening for 1hr. each for the sections, temperature influences the readings on the sound meter scales as air pressure level was different. Other influencing factors such as vehicular noises, customer conversations and power generator noise which all makes the background noise influences the sound meter readings scale showing a rapid fluctuation pattern. Evaluation of the sound pressure levels(dB) when the machine was OFF( Also the background noise) and when it as ON was done in chapter three of this work with a graph of sound pressure level(dB) against time(Mines) shows a fluctuation pattern from the Data collected during measurement.
