SUMMARY
So far, this study has examined the desperate journey migration of illegal government failures in addressing the menace of legal Migration in Nigeria. The research examined the rise of illegal migration from early times all present days It also talks about reasons /causes why Nigerians embark on this desperate journey, problems faced by the migrants and also the consequences the journey as on then and the society. It also explains the different types of migration a person can embark on.
This study shows that illegal migration is a major problem in Nigeria and it is high time the government tackles this menace, because of the socio economic effect it’s on the country such as; depopulation, loss of able bodied men, underdevelopment, separation of families etc. The issue of illegal migration is not just in Nigeria alone, even though Nigeria as the largest amount Of illegal migrants in Africa, it is important to note that there are various countries that also experience the issue of illegal migration. This study also attempted to give abroad conceptualisation on Illegal migration. It also shows the relationship between human trafficking and illegal migration.
