This studies involve the production of of soap from coconut and palm oil using locally sourced alkali. The dried palm bunch matter was subjected to total combustion, soaking, filtering and the ash residue to obtain a colourless filtrate of alkali.
Coconut oil was extracted from coconut seed and soap where produced from both oils with the peroxide value, saponification value, esterification value, iodine value and free fatty acid value determined.
