ABSTRACT
Business and technology are increasingly becoming more tightly integrated. However, while investments are being made in maximizing productivity and improving sustainability through advanced technologies, organizations do not have the same structured plan or commitment for building workforce capability and skill. We present a study on how organizations can invest in their most critical asset (their workforce) using emerging learning and educational technologies. It focused on designing an adaptive learning and career management system that supports organizational training, automates long and short-term career path and stands as a trade-off between job proficiency and skill disparity. The system is a progressive web application and was designed using web technologies like Java script and Bootstrap framework. The PHP and HTML was used in programming the program modules while the source program was developed using Relational Database with MySQL. Data was collected using questionnaires, analysed using simple percentage and the hypothesis tested using Chi-Square. Analysis revealed that the use of learning technologies in the workplace will advance employees learning and development in the workplace, motivate them, and improve their performance.
