The role of a stage manager can sometimes be undermined by performers. This research was to delve into the prospects and challenges of stage management in a play production. Stage management in the theatre is a crucial aspect of theater production ensuring the smooth execution of a performance from rehearsals to the final show and post production.It was recommended that institutions should collaborate with theater professionals and industry experts to update the curriculum,ensuring it covers modern stage management techniques,technology,and best practices.By implementing these recommendations,universities in Nigeria can elevate their stage management programs,nurturing skilled professionals who contribute significantly to the country’s vibrant arts and entertainment industry.
