ABSTRACT
The study focused on Mammy Market, Effurun as an emerging commercial landscape. Mammy Market are usually in where you have Military barracks and serve as an informal commercial set up. The survey used 160 traders to gather data on various aspects of the market, using mainly structured question items. The data were analyzed descriptively based on tables using percentages and frequencies. The findings that emerged are: traders use Mammy Market, Effurun mainly because of its perceived security; the location of the market was found suitable; Military provision of infrastructures was few; and Military personnel was responsible for its management unlike other markets that are managed by the Local Government Councils in Delta State. The following were recommended: that Mammy Market, Effurun should be provided with modern infrastructures; it should be made accessible for other traders apart from wives of Military personnel; and Mammy Market, Effurun should be properly designed in terms of its layout and architecture.
