SUMMARY
The arable land had the lowest values of nutrients, this may be attributed to continuous use of the land over a long period of time, the high nutrient uptake of arable crops and leaching can be said to be the major cause of nutrient depletion. Silvicultural land is the third on the list, but have the second highest organic matter content among other land use type; the ambient environment from the direct impact of elements of climate, create environment that favours the activities of microorganisms. The residential land appeared to be most fertile among the land use which can be attributed to none usage of the land for no major practices and the low rate at which nutrient is lost since there is no agricultural activities and plants removing nutrients. However, fallow land nutrient contents vary across land use type but higher than arable land, and this could also due to uptake by plants as well.
