ABSTRACT
In this project, measurements of available rooftop area and energy audit of power requirements was taken from different residential and organizational buildings using rainfall-method for the evaluation of the area and physical inspection for the evaluation of appliances/gadgets under the rooftops. Detailed information on the particular buildings and their respective address can be found in the work. This was done to ascertain if the available rooftop space would be able to cater for the power requirements of the gadgets/appliances underneath the rooftop. It is pertinent to note that the main objective for the studies is to determine whether the rooftop available to individual or organizations can generate enough electricity to power their gadgets, which can be helpful for individuals for decision making and in reducing the dependencies on the use of fossils which are the main culprits of the climatic change we are facing today in the world. The scope of this project entails the measurement of rooftop areas and estimation of power that can be generated from the solar panel that would be contained in the measured area. Conduct an energy audit of the selected buildings which will lead to the determination of the power requirement of the selected buildings.
