ABSTRACT
The research investigates the topic, Insurance sector performance and the growth of the Nigerian economy over a certain period of time. The broad objective of study is to determine the impact of insurance sector performance on the GDP growth rate, proxy for growth of the Nigerian economy. The variables of study include GDPR, as the dependent variable, INSC, proxy for credit to insurance sector; as well as, Premium paid to insurance firms and FSIZE, proxy for firm size. Chapters two is the literature review: the conceptual, theoretical and empirical review. The research design is the longitudinal, method of data analysis, is the panel least square regression technique for estimating the model. More so The Findings, policy implications as well as, recommendations and conclusion of study.
