ABSTRACT
The study examined the level of compliance on learning environment of nursery schools in Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State. The study also sought to find out if there is any difference in the level of compliance on learning environment based on location and ownership of school. Four research questions were raised. Two were answered directly while two were formulated into hypotheses and tested at 0.05 level of significance. The study employed a descriptive survey research design. The sample size for this study was twenty schools in Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State. Selected through convenience sampling technique, a questionnaire titled Level of Compliance on Learning Environment of Nursery Schools was designed for the study. The data collected were analyzed using mean, percentage, frequency, count, Pearson r, analyses and the independent sample t-Test. The following findings were made: To a large extent there was Compliance such as school building condition, classroom layout, and teaching aids. Lesser compliance were seen in the provision of dustbins, security post, electricity supply and fire fighting equipment. Based on the findings, it was recommended among others that schools should place a high priority on implementing rules and regulations that support a safe and interesting learning environment.
