ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study is to assess the level of awareness about the risk factors and preventive measures of hypertension among traders in Egor LGA Benin city, Edo State. Hypertension is one of the major global health issue faced by humans and narrowed down to those in market environment it is an issue of concern as it affects the traders productivity and daily living. Descriptive survey research design was used for the study and thus the data for the study were collected with the use a questionnaire. After expert’s validation of the instrument it was tested for reliability. The population of the study consists of traders in Egor LGA Benin city out of which an hundred (100) traders from twenty lines were randomly selected. Four research questions were raised and answered by the study. Findings from the study revealed that there is a reasonable amount of awareness about the risk factors and preventive measures of hypertension among traders and just a few of them stated otherwise.
