LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM: BUILDING A LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR ONLINE COURSES WITH LARAVEL

ABSTRACT

With rapid technological advancement in today's world, Learning Management System for short, LMS is one technology that has come to improve the way of teaching and learning. An LMS makes learning more efficient for students. Learning Management Systems are being used by large enterprises in the orientation of new staff, in educational institutions to enable online learning environments along with traditional learning environments and also by individuals who want to monetise their knowledge and experience by teaching their students online. Traditional learning approaches frequently have limitations in terms of accessibility, flexibility, and customisation. It requires physical presence. This presents difficulties for students in rural places and those with limited mobility, or with impairments that make commuting difficult. Traditional learning follows a rigid pace which may not be suitable for all students. Students who are slow to grasp concepts are often at a disadvantage in this method of teaching. These few disadvantages highlight why Learning Management Systems (LMSs) have become essential instruments in modern education allowing for a more flexible, accessible, and personalized learning experience. This project is focused on creating a complete Learning Management System for online courses where instructors can upload their courses and students can enrol for their desired courses. It will include features such as a course review system, email notification, course coupon system and dashboards for users, instructors and admin. This project will be built with Laravel, a PHP Framework, with the aim of enhancing online learning.
