ABSTRACT
One of the greatest challenges impeding the growth of Nigeria today is her ineptitude leadership. The leadership of a nation can either make or mar that nation. A nation like Nigeria who gained her independence more than sixty two years ago and blessed with enormous human and natural resources ought to have made progress more than it present state. This is as a result of the various problems such as corruption, terrorism, low per income capita, tribalism, and other social, economic and political vices and all this is as a result of poor leadership. Looking at Nigeria and the challenges she is going through, this long essay intend to show how philosophy as a discipline can help solve the problem of underdevelopment and bad leadership. Philosophy as a discipline gives a better understanding of reality by acting as a means to an end through logical clarification of concepts. This research therefore employs conceptual method and critical analytic method in order to properly showcase issues and problems arising from bad leadership and underdevelopment in Nigeria and examine how philosophy can play a role in eradicating bad leadership to aid development in Nigeria.
