ABSTRACT
The concentration of some selected heavy metals such as Pb, Cd, Cu, Ni and Zn were analysed in four different brand of battery sample(Tiger battery, Duracell battery, Sunflash battery and Hi- watt battery), This analysis was carried out using Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (AAS). This analysis was carried out twice to determine the mean level of heavy metals and the comparative studies of heavy metals in each brand of the battery. The concentration of cadmium in all the brand of the battery ranges from(0.001-0.005mg/g) with Duracell brand having the lowest of 0.001mg/g which makes it more expensive to manufacture. The concentration of lead was high in hi-watt brand ranges from 0.375mg/g-374mg/g which makes it work effectively at a very short period of time.
