ABSTRACT
The study of the language attitude of teenagers continue to be of theoretical evidence for both general linguistics theory and the behaviourist theory of Skinner. The discussion features in this work the attitude of teenagers in Egor community of Egor local government, Edo state have towards the Edo language and the determining factors responsible for their various attitudes, this was done through the systematic collection and analysis of data whose validity was tested by other competent Edo speakers. The motivation for this work is the low degree in the use of Edo language by these teenagers and over time there has been evidence in the gradual shift to English and pidgin. A self administered questionnaire was used for the collection of data; a total of questionnaire was administered to Edo teenagers of ages 13-18. Based on the findings, the researcher saw that 90% of teenagers in Egor community, Edo State, have a negative attitude towards Edo language and there is the gradual shift in language use which could lead to the death of Edo language if not curtailed.
