ABSTRACT
The study was to investigate the knowledge of the effect of abortion among selected secondary school students in Oredo Local Government Area, Benin City, Edo State. Five research questions were raised to guide the researcher. Various literatures were reviewed to the study.
Descriptive statistics was adopted for the study. The population of the study of all 6,946 students in Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State. The sample size for the study was 455 students. They were selected by proportional sampling technique. The study utilized a validated questionnaire that was designed by the researcher.
From the data collected in the study, the perceived effects of abortion among secondary school students include: out-of-school, early marriage, stigmatization, damage to reproductive system, death.
