The respondents can be said to have a low level knowledge of erectile dysfunction. Men experience emotional strains having erectile dysfunction. This is particularly true in Nigeria where the health infrastructure is limited. The impact of social norms had a significant consequence for these men with the result that several of them isolated themselves before the treatment. Having the men stigmatized created an additional emotional burden for their spouses. Hence, having the correct knowledge towards the cause and management of erectile dysfunction has a profound role in the development of erectile dysfunction patient.Given the limited information regarding the level of awareness and knowledge in this group, this study concluded that advances in public health programs to address the widespread negative impact of social discrimination have been comparatively slow and unsystematic.
