ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the knowledge of drug abuse among secondary school students in oredo local government area. Four research questions were formulated to guide the study. Data were collected using the questionnaire made up of fourteen (19) items on the level of knowledge of drug abuse and misuse among secondary school in oredo local government area. The descriptive survey research design was adopted for the study and the study population consisted of 1080 students across oredo local government area. a sample size of 195 respondents was selected using the multistage sampling technique. The instrument for data collection was a well-designed structured questionnaire which was validated by the project supervisor and two other lecturers from the department of health, safety and environmental education. The test-retest method was used to determine the reliability of the instrument. Collated data was analyzed using descriptive statistical tools such as frequency and percentage tables.
