ABSTRACT
The study examined the knowledge and practices of early child safety among creche care givers in Benin metropolis. In order to carry out this study, specified research questions were drawn from which null hypotheses were formulated and used for the study. The research design for this study is a survey design. The population of the study consisted of 2416 creche care givers who worked at crèche session and day care centers as at 2022 ( Min. of Women Affairs and Social development ). Simple random sampling technique was used to select 300 respondents out of the population. The instrument used for data collection was questionnaire which was validated by the supervisor and other two lecturers in the department of health,safety and environmental education . Data from completed questionnaires was subjected to simple percentage analysis. The finding showed and concludes that there is significant relationship between knowledge and practices of early child safety among creche care givers in Benin metropolis. The study recommended that the strategy should promote caregivers engagement with their children through which makes them aware of the benefits and the importance of play based learning.
