A cross-sectional survey was conducted among 150 mothers with children diagnosed with cleft palate in UBTH using a structured questionnaire. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive statistics and chi-square test. Our findings revealed that a significant proportion of mothers had poor knowledge of cleft palate, with only 31% having adequate knowledge. Furthermore, misconceptions about the cause of cleft palate were common, with 65.7% of mothers attributing it to spiritual causes. The results of this study highlight the need for increased awareness and education about cleft palate among mothers in UBTH.
