ABSTRACT
The study investigated knowledge and awareness of preeclampsia among pregnant women in Ikpoba okha local Government area of Edo State. To guide this study, two research questions were raised and they were all answered. The study adopted descriptive survey research. The population of the study comprised of four hundrend (400) prenant women in Ikpoba okha local government area with a sample size of two hundrend pregnant women(200). The instruments used in collecting the data was a structured questionnaire designed by the researcher. The data collected were analyzed using simple percentage and frequency counts for descriptive analysis The study revealed that there is low knowlege and awareness of preeclampsia among pregnant women in Ikpoba okha local Government Area of Edo State. Based on the findings it was recommended that there is need to continue to educate women wheather pregnant or not about hypertention in pregnancy. health education, workshops and seminars should be organized in order to provide adequate information about hypertention to women and community at large.
