ABSTRACT
This research is designed to ascertain the knowledge and Attitudes of Oluku Market Women in Ovia North East L.G.A of Edo state towards Covid19 vaccination. The survey research design was adopted for the study. The population of this research work comprises of all the market women at Oluku Market. The multistage sampling technique was used. The sample size for the study is two hundred and fifty (250) respondents. Findings from the study showed that most of the respondents were aware of the COVID-19 vaccine, most of the respondents were of the opinion that the COVID-19 is safe. Also, they were of the opinion that the vaccine is useful against the spread of the COVID-19 vaccine, it’s a societal responsibility and the benefits of the vaccine outweighs the risk involved. The study findings concluded that more than half of the participants had a good knowledge of the covid-19 vaccine. However, only 40.1% of the respondents had a positive attitude toward the covid-19 vaccination. Based on the findings and observation from the field, the study recommends among other things that there should be reinforcement of public awareness programs on COVID-19 vaccination in order to reduce the number of Oluku Market Women who hold indifferent or neutral views about the effectiveness of the vaccine.
