ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study is to investigate the knowledge and attitudes towards HIV/AIDS infection among University of Benin Students. The researcher reveals the knowledge and attitude towards HIV/AIDS infection among University of Benin Students. The study is guided by three research questions ranging from the students’ knowledge of HIV/AIDS infection, the students’ attitude towards HIV/AIDS infection and the preventive measures they employ against the infection and the three research questions were all answered correctly. The research design of the study was a descriptive survey research design. The population of study used is total undergraduates of the University of Benin. The sample size of the study was a hundred and ninety five(195) students using the proportionate sampling method The instrument used is a 25 item questionaire. A reliability of 0.73 was obtatined. This indicated that the research instrument is reliable. Frequency counts and percentages were used as the method of Data Analysis. The findings showed that a high proportion of the respondents (99%) had high knowledge of the transmission modes of HIV/AIDS infection and 42% of the respondents do not practice sexual abstinence.
