ABSTRACT
The work shows the kinetics studies of the treatment of wastewater from palm oil processing industry using powdered snail shell and it shows that the treatment fits into the pseudo second order study model, since the correlation coefficient (R2 ) values of most parameters were ≥ 0.99. the following physiochemical parameters, pH, temperature, DO, BOD, COD, alkalinity, turbidity, EC, and some heavy metals were analysed before and after treatment and the obtained when subjected to pseudo first kinetics model, pseudo second kinetics model and intra particle diffusion and it was concluded that the treatment fit the second order kinetic since the result obtained showed that R2 value is approximately 1. The method is very cheap and effective, physical, chemical and biological methods should be combined in the purification of wastewater in our environment for safe disposal.
