ABSTRACT
This study examined the impact of job satisfaction on employee performance in the Nigerian Table Water Industry, Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. Specifically, it assessed the relationship between career development & promotion, compensation & benefits, job security, working conditions and employee performance in in the Nigerian Table Water Industry, Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. The survey research design was adopted for this study.
A total of 200 copies of questionnaire were distributed and but 181copies were retrieved and found usable for the study. Convenience sampling procedure was used in administering the copies of questionnaire to the selected table water companies in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. The data collected through questionnaire administration was analysed using descriptive statistics such as frequency distribution, mean and standard deviation. Multiple regression analysis was used to test the null hypotheses and estimate the research model using the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) technique through the use of the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) Version 21.
The study found out that there is a significant positive relationship between career development & promotion, compensation & benefits, job security, working conditions and employee performance in the Nigerian Table Water Industry, Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria.
The study recommended that management of companies in the Nigerian Table Water Industry ensure that they draw up career paths, offer compensation & benefits that is above the minimum wage and commensurate to what the employees’ peers receive in other states, offer some level of job security and ensure that the right working conditions are domesticated and implemented as this will ensure the short and long term career growth of the employees and give the employees some level of peace as regards the stability of their jobs.
